After watching 'Supernanny' last night, about 5 yr twins still in nappies at bedtime.

What is standard age you ought to start making your child stop wearing nappies at bedtime?

My dd is 3, she will be 4 in February. This is new to me, I haven't a clue!

My nephew was still in Nappies at bedtime at 5, he had very weak bladder control and couldnt hold his wee whilst he slept.

My eldest ds was exactly 3.5yrs when he came out of nappies at bed time.

every child is different.  A friend of mine who's little boy is in the same class as my ds is still wearing dry nights pants for bed, he was 5 a fortnight ago.

I started by cutting right down of his drinks, and would give him his last drinks with his tea.  His nappies got drier and drier in the morning and eventually he was dry

Joshua was 4 in May and has only in the last few months come out of nappies at bedtime, and he still has accidents. Im still waking him to go wee wee in the night, he rarely wakes himself. As Rin says everyone is different, I know boys are more likely to bedwet and take longer to control it.

See I dont know about this either!!  I am trying to potty-train Lewis atm but as you know it is a slow and difficult process and until it clicks with him that he must wee in the potty instead of the nappy, he's just gonna continue.  Would imagine that he would be out of nappies even at bedtime at 5 though.

Ds was out of nappies by 3.5 but recently had to use them again as he is on new medication for constipation and couldn't control his bowels until we found the right dose, which is a case of trail and error and we are still not right at the moment although he has stopped using nappies now.

He used to wait until bedtime for a poo anyway, so we had no choice but to stop nappies altogether or he would still be waiting until bedtime.

Dd is currently pt'ing now and is doing ok but we haven't ventured outside yet and bedtime would be a disater, but she is only just turned 2.

Taylor is 6 soon, and he still wears "nap pants" for bed..

I don;t see him coming out of them anytime soon either.. his a very heavy sleeper, nothing can wake him... not even needing a wee.

I am still confused!

My dd's bedtime nappies are always soaking wet every morning, does this mean she's nowhere ready yet & plus she seems quite happy to wear them?

Perhaps, I should leave it, till she's 4?

So 'Supernanny' made a bit of a mountain out of a molehill about the twins wearing nappies at age 5. Is this age regarded as 'very late'?

I wouldn't think that is was late, i wouldn't make an issue of it unless it bothered the child anyway or they may feel they are doing something wrong and thats not the case, just some are quicker than others.
