I did wonder how long it would take someone in the media to compare Kate McCann to Princess Diana.  When they were being pursuaded through the streets of Portugal on the way to the airport it struck me the similarity, I knew it wouldn't take long for it to appear somewhere in the media.

If Madeleine McCann had gone missing in this country as has happened before the parents are advised on how to handle the papers and media attention.  Unfortunately this family weren't until it was probably too late.  They welcomed the press and all that entailed in the hope it would help them quickly find their daughter and who can blame them for that.  Unfortunately the press are ugly, we don't know anything about the family apart from what the press portray.  Gerry McCann writes an online blogg again inviting scrutiny and an insight into their pain.  You can't expect a high profile in the media and then not expect people to comment on them personally.

It's a sad fact of life that people like grim stories and especially stories about children because it reminds them to protect their children and how lucky they are their children are safe.

I agree with the writer women are horrible to other women.  You only have to look at the thread we had running sometime ago about women who are pregnant and work, some of the comments on their shocked me from inteligent women.

An article about the judgemental people around us, yet when offered an differing opinion thats not published. They have a section for 'have your say' and only the views which 100% agree with the article are published on line. Thats alittle bit hypercritical wouldn't you say.

I do agree partly with that article, but not entirely.
