You either love it or hate it.

I'm having a bad time with it so at the moment I hate it!
I'm really stressed about weaning. I hate the fact that its messy, that he spits it everywhere, that he gets his bib, hands and sometimes feet in his mouth just as I put the spoon in. Then theres the issue with how much to give, how much milk they should be drinking and so on and so on.

People keep saying that it does get easier but when?!

Aww Rebecca - the only advice i can give is dont stress (easier said than done) as u know lo will get messy no matter how hard u try they're just experimenting so yes is will get easier but just as u get 2 grips with feeding him he'll want 2 do it himself & the fun will start again

As for milk, from wot iv read lo should hav a minimum of 600mls a day thats 21oz but Ryan didnt hav more than 17oz yesterday - i think the main thing is that lo puts on weight at a steady rate & is happy

Thanks Lil P.

I think it's probably more to do with Jack still being in our room and waking up sometimes three or four times a night (usually from 3am onwards). I'm just grumpy from lack of sleep.

As you know Jack arrived the day we moved in and so his room is still full of boxes. I might us the MIL if she can have him this Sunday so that DH & I can make a good effort at clearing his room, decorating it and putting him in there.

I love weaning!  I don't fret about the mess because it's inevitable.  I've got a two year old who wants to feed himself and always misses his mouth and four month who wishes he could feed himself cos he loves his grub so much!

Please don't worry you're doing a grand job.

Hey Rebecca.

I know what u mean - I still have to strip Ella down to her nappy cos she makes so much mess!! I wear an apron too!!

I asked my HV the other day about milk and she said that as an ABSOLUTE MIN, they should have 10 oz. But ideally, 21oz as P says. Ella just isn't interested in Milk at all now. She just wants the food! If I don't give her the bottle 1st, she won't take it.

Just a thought - do you use baby cereal? If so, u can mix milk in with it - even on the cow and gate ones that say to use water. I rang them to check.

HTH xxx

Ellen at the moment hates solid food.  The only thing she will have is yoghurt, and that goes everywhere.  I have big bibs for feeding time so it doesn't go ll over her clothes.

Goodluck hun and i am sure u will be having fun soon xxx

Big hugs

Louis is just having one meal a day and the only thing he will eat is sweet potaoto & Butternut squash, which stains absoluetly everything in comes into contact with lol

Weaning is pretty stressful until you get it established but once you get the ball rolling it should become easier!!

We enjoy the mess in our house it shows the boys have had fun!!
