as has been said caring for other peoples children is never the same, everyone brings their kids up differently, maybe if you had left him to climb the stairs and eat the remotes etc you might not have made such a good mum but you were clearly doing what was best for him and protecting and caring for him, your gona make a FAB mother, dont give up or get down stick at it.

hugs xxx

I agree with everyone else, I don't think this has anything to do with your ability for being a very very good mum. I reckon it has more to do with having a child proof house.

Children usually get very excited when they find themselves in a new environment, and without mum around... there's no way to stop them!

hi becky..im glad your feeling better. i wanted to share my insight as well. I lovE MY baby so much but i think those are two seperate issues that dont combine. wanting to be a mother and being a good mother is one great joy and feeling. But get annoyed and irritated at them is a seperate issue that makes me wonder or not want kids again...yelling at kaitlyn makes me so stressed after a few hours that i want to lock her up .... so please keep striving toward your dream becky!

Awww hun, that proves you wil probably make a good mom!  I have 5 little (well 3 not so lilttle ones), and my No1 word is NO!  Mainly to child 4, but who is counting?  You will have had your own for a year and gotten used to him/her before he gets to that stage!  You'll do just fine!

i agree with all the others before i had Molly hun i used to look after a few friends children aswell as nieces and nephews and belive me it was hard going, i was happy to hand them back and use to count the hours down till the parents returned lol  - when its your own its completely different - you will make a fantastic mum im sure so stick with it and goodluck, hugs luv Jue xx

Becky, you will be a fantastic mum. No-one knows  what they will be like until they have their own baby. I was in no way shape or form the least bit maternal and pushing a pram around was definately the furthest thing from my mind, but then I got pregnant with the oldest one at 17.

I was terrified but I tell you something, the rush of love I felt for her when I first held her was like nothing on earth. Yes, there were hard times but I wouldn't change it for all the money on earth.

Im a bit late posting! But being a mum does not always come naturally. I found it extremely different looking after othe rppls kids to looking after my own. Some days with Adam all I seem to do is say no, shout at him and send him to his room, other days are good. Parenting is a very hard job! But an amazing one. All kids need rules and boundaries but also loads of love. They have different stages and some of them are very testing (Adam has just gone through one where he kept hitting me and gave me a nose bleed) but we just get on with it. You will be a great mum when the time comes as the baby will be very much wanted! Dont put yourself down because of one experience just look at it as a learning curve!
