Hi all,it does not feel right putting this post here as it all seem's to be little children anyway my son is 12 nearly 13 and since the age of 2 he has suffered with swollen hands and feet and knees.As he has got older he has suffered with pain to his feet,ankles,knees,hips and back but very rarely gets swelling.At the moment he takes diclofenic twice a day but still is in pain.The doctors have done tests for arthritis but these always come back fine.He has inserts for his shoes as he is very very flat footed but this does not help with pain.Im sure the doctors are missing something.He walks like a old man and has developed a stoop now ,he has been known to go to bed upstairs on his bum as it is so painful to walk. & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;
I was just wondering does anyone else have a child with similar problems?? It is really concerning me as the older he is getting the worse he is getting.

I don't have any experience of this problem but i would keep going back and ask for a second opinion, until you are happy they have tried evrything to help, other that i would do my own research and pass anything you may find onto the dr's.

Hi thankyou for your reply.Im waiting to take him to see a bone specialist but the list is quite high and it has already been six months. I suppose i will have to keep on doing research and hope for the best.

hi,i would insist on seeing a specialist striegt away,there is clearly something very wrong here that will continue to get worse do not be messed around or have stuff put off,you need to get to th bottom of the problem asap.
it must be so difficult for your son,it must restrict him so much.i really hope you find out what this is and it can be treated. good luck xx

Yup, would suggest that too. I suffered from this as a child - and x amount of years later it was discovered that I suffered from Hypermobility Syndrome. Would definately take it further as if hes in as much pain that I suffer from, its pure agony at times. Good luck and let us know how you get on xxxx

Your right to keep pushing, but just as a second opinion have you looked into chiropractors? They might beable to help, but make sure the one you see has specalised/trainned in pediatric care.

Thankyou all for your replies.I am going to really push to get a result and hopefully find something to help with his pain i just feel i have been fighting for over ten years and the only thing we have got sorted out is his epilepsy.It is great that we have got that sorted out but i would love for him to be a normal child and not to be in such terrible pain from just going to school that it reduces him to tears.Thanks again all,you have been great.Just to have people to talk too really means something to me.

I will let you all know how it goes .My sons doctor once reduced me to tears when he was in hospital and he looked at me like i was some kind of nutter,i can laugh now, i must of looked pretty scary at the time with my bulging red eyes and blotchy skin .Anyway it didn't do anything as he just walked out after saying to me when you calm down i suggest you get some sleep ( i could of bopped him one).Watch this space
