Hi all i have noticed tonight after bathing Ashleigh that she has come out in a rash.

Its red and the spots are very small and they look like they have water or something in the ones that have heads on. I noticed ealier today she had a few but put it down to her nappy that she wears at night. Now they are half way down her inner thighs and now starting under her armpits and on the top of her back and on her neck.

She is ok in herself but i'm not sure what this is and weather to be worried about it. I will see how it is in the morning if its any worse i will take her to the docs.

But if anyone's lo has had this or may know what it is then please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Cameron has chickenpox at mo - these start as small red spots which then turn 'blistery' - have fluid in them. I'd take her to doctor tomorrow and get them checked out Emma. Hope you have an ok night with her.

Cheers babe but i don't think its these either as she had chicken pox a few months ago. If it was Jamie-leigh who had this i would have thought that as she hasn't had it.

Is it chicken pox as they normally start in the mid-drift area first.

Sorry hadn't read that bit,

Has she had a virus recently?  A lot of children can get post viral rashes, they normally clear up on their own.  As it is in the warmer parts of her body too it could be prickly heat.  If you are unsure then take her to the gp just to be sure.

Thanks Sam i thought it might be this but wasn't sure as they have never had anything like it. She has been full of a cold well both have and wondered like you said if it could be a virus. She hasn't had a tempertaure of such that would bring this out so i thought it could be a virus.

I will see how she is tomorrow and if i'm still not sure i will get her checked over. Thanks again ladies. xxxxx

Sounds very much like heat rash to me!  Both my tiny ones get heat rash Fred more so than Winston and often it starts where the nappy is, under the arms and across the bak of the neck, more because they are the places on kids that are generally covered with very little air circulation.  If you are at all worried take her to the docs, but if it is heat rash there isn't much you can do except just try and keep her cool, it often looks worse than it feels!  Good luck Emma!
