OOOOF is all im saying lol.
Well off we trundled to the docs this morning...and im going to write a letter to the council about the state of the roads..was swearing by the time we got there lol.
Sat down...and watched the clock...tick...tick....tears threatening to pop out..tick..tick..beeeep Mrs Law to Nurse Room 2...awwwww pants. Now the chairs were pretty low down so joe helped me up..and the little old biddy that had been sat there said..ooooo that looks sore duck..well had a hysterectomy last friday...ooo you poor duck do you want my walking stick...
Now the hospital had given us a scary looking medieval type looking implement that is to be used to remove the staples..and for the life of me i couldnt figure out how it would work.
Got to the room...walked through the door..and she had everything all laid out..including a bowl with two large syringes with stuff in it..well that was it for me..panic building and i froze..so much so that joe had to give me a shove to get me into the room properly. Hes never seen my reaction to unexpected needles and was a bit shocked to say the least.
So I did as I was told and 'popped' onto the bed...hid behind my tissues and shoved my free hand under and round the table so i wouldnt lash out..dont ask but it works.
Then she set to work doing whatever it was that she had to do with said medieval type torture device. TBH didnt really feel anything at all until she got to the last two..and i knew about those two put it that way. Swore a bit put it that way. She then said i was all done, so had a look...ewwwwwwww minging. The relief was good though no more feeling like i was being pulled apart with every movement..which was nice. She said its healing nicely, nice and clean etc. Then whacked on the biggest dressing with vast amounts of tape on it youve ever seen..my instant thought was OMG DIY waxing...oooo noooo. Im to keep this dressing on for 2-3 days and keep it dry etc. Keep an eye out for any ooozing and anything else. She was really gross and checked my pad and said that although i was still losing blood (still havent figured out how that works) its the right colour and that im still not allowed to use tampons...much to my own personal disgust but i knew that already lol.
I can move around a lot easier now that the staples are out..and i had shedloads, i swear the surgeon never got to play with a stapler when he was a kid (and the nurse agreed with me). It still hurts but not as much as it did. Im still not keen on stairs but they are getting easier. So im getting there slowly but surely.
The nurse said that the difference with the amount of pain ive got as opposed to other women is that the geezer removed a massive panel of fat (semi-tummy tuck) when he did the op, as all that needed to be tested as well...to get a clear margin from around the cyst. Basically anything round the cyst that could be removed...was removed. She told me not to worry it will probably grow back..and i said...dont bleeding think so lol. I got on the scales and ive lost 8lb since last friday which puts me in the 9st region...but closer to 10...always a bonus lol.
My mood swings are doing alright, nothing major to report. Im keeping a beady eye out for 'baby blues' as the hormones work their way out of my system (days ago now). Had floods of tears yesterday for no reason whatsoever, but apart from that not been to bad. Im sick of the hot flushes though, they are a killer and trust me keep me awake for hours at night. Ive said to joe that ill give it 3 months and if its still as bad ill go see the doc for some sleeping pills or something. Im hoping that ill have a short menopause rather than it go on for years and years.
