Hi, and welcome again :o)

I dont have experience with the medication and home life with a child with ADHD but I did work with pupils at a special needs school and some of those had ADHD. You must have you hands full with a toddler too. Do you have a supportive family? I think we have a couple of mums on here with hyperactive children, or ADHD diagnosed, Im sure they'll post when they wake up ;o) lol

Morning hun

Welcome to madmums. I'm Tsena and i have 2 children both boys, one 18mths and the other 6yrs. My six year old was diagnosed last march as having DAMP.... it's adhd with co-ordination and perception problems thrown in to make life fun.

We've been told we have to keep going for a year before they will consider medication as in cambridgeshire they like to see if parenting workshops etc help to manage things ebough at home and school to aviod medication.

If you need to chat feel free to pm me and either way i look forward to chatting to you again soon.

Hi Kate

A very warm welcome to Madmums.  I have a two and a half year old son who we think has ADHD.  Both my husband and my step son both have ADHD, until a year or so ago my step son was on Ritalin, but is not on anything at the moment, and his mother doesnt seem to care, but thats another story!

Lewis is too young for a diagnosis yet but is showing the classical signs - cant sit still, on the go from morning til night, a fascination with buses and timetables, counting his fingers constantly, lack of concentration and never finishing anything he started.

At the moment Im trying to cut out additives to his diet - although we cant erradicate them completely, Im cutting out all I can, which is making a small difference.  Once a diagnosis has been established and treatment started, Im hoping that we will be able to manage a bit better!!

Here for a chat if you need me!

Nikki xxxx

Hi

My son who is 5 is currently being investigated for adhd.  We have just done the connors test and are awaiting another appointment.  they dont rush!

TBH, I'm having second thoughts if this is really what is to do with him. As he does seem to be improving.

Welcome to the site btw
