Do you know anyone who has conceive whilst breastfeeding?
A friend of mine was asking me as her sister has a small baby and is breastfeeding but wants a very small gap between pregnancies. I know its possible once they are on solids but I think she wants to ttc earlier than that. I think baby is around 2 months and is bf full time.

my neighbour was Bf her wee girl and fell preganant when heer wee girl
was 10 months or so.
she wasn't using any form of contraception as she had been told by a
"professional" that she didn't need to use anything as BF was a
contraceptive in itself.
there are 2 kids in the nursery where i work who have 10 months
between them !!

Hi Madz well i "work" with a girl who had a lol boy in march and fell pg 5 weeks later she says this was planned but i dont think they thought it threw properly as they went for the first scan and she is having TWINS so this is now meaning that her 1st will be 9/10 months when they come along .I personally think she has been very silly but each to there own .

It wouldnt be right for me but it isnt for me to judge. TBH I'm not sure where they find the time for baby making with a 2 month old - I think eds was around 5 months before we ventured there!
I know my doctor fell pregnant with twins whilst bfing too. Now there is someone who should know better!

I agree with you about your doc hun i think 6 months is a reasonable time limit if you really want them close together but 5 weeks or 8 weeks is very soon (says she with no kids god i should learn to shut my trap )

I was still breastfeading Ollie when I fell pregnant last year. My af's had returned though. As long as she is having af regularly then she should be fertile. There is no harm in trying if that is what she wants but she may not ovulate for a whlie, nature has it's own way of spacing babies out.

I fell pg when Zarah was about 8 wks old and had given up bf by then but I know its possible as a few people I know have used bf as contraception which has failed.

I got my af 6 weeks after having Ben, depite bf him exclusively, so I'm glad i used other contraception!! SOMETIMES bf can be a natural contraception, but I personally wouldn't rely on it solely. If her af is back then theres no reason why she can't concieve.
