Fred has never slept in a dark house!  We started leaving the light on when ds1 went into his own room, so that I could see where I was going to take him to the bathroom etc, and although when he was in the cot we used to shut the door properly (more for noise volume than anything else) Since going into a bed he has insisted that we leave the door open.  So all the upstairs lights have been changed to energy efficient, and the landing is either 60w or 40w equivalent, that way it's not too bad.  Dd still hates the dark and she is 12, and we just close our room door at night anyway!  I wouldn't put a light in Fred's room, as I hate to think what the little monkey would do with it.

Ben sometimes has terrible nightmares, and I don't know whats causing them. Last night he was screaming about a seventies pig (!?!) trying to get daddy! He was still talking about it this morning when he got up. It was so bad that he ended up in bed with me fora little bit when he first got up, he was so scared!

We've tried a nightlight, but cn't seem to get one thats not too bright. He thinks its 'up time' if its too light lol!

Hope Ella has a bit of a better time.

Bensmum if you want a nightlight that isnt too bright try www.lumie.com - baby bodyclock (or normal bosyclock actually) you can set it to whichever setting you want. Its great! They are a bit pricey but are great for other things not just nightlight.
