I'm coming out of denial and have started getting wee clothes for the twins!

I'd been wondering what size to get as my boy was a 9 pounder and didn't fit into any first size things, but my wee girl drowned in all the 0-3month things I had bought for her to start off!

I'm assuming the twins won't be too big?

I've gone for the "new baby" size in Next stuff and first size up to 9lbs in Asda.

Awww I loved baby shopping during my pregnancies - sooo envious!!

Did you buy neutral colours or do you know the twins' genders?

I think the first size (up to 9lb, think next might be up to 10lb) would be best. The first size stuff drowned Bekah as well but only lasted Tash a couple of week. Bekah was 6lb 1oz and she fitted in the teeny tiny baby stuff (think it is up to 7lb), for the first few weeks. Most of it was out of mothercare.

As I said, I would stick to the first size. How are you managing at the shopping? Are you not too tired yet. I have to sit down alot when out shopping.

Aww, i always thought that buying clothes made it seem so 'real' that they'll soon be here to fill them.  I used to get a mixed bag of emotions when i shopped for baby clothes.  Excited, scared, tired already lol.

I think the sizes you have got will be fine.  Have they said at your scan's how big they estimate them to be? I was always told mine were going to be apporx 8-9lb and both were heavy 8lb's

I bet the excitment is kicking in now, I cant belive how fast you pg has gone.

take care

Thanks everyone!  Rin, you have summed it up so well- it is a big mix of emotions!

And yes, I'm getting a bit big for the trail around the shops Colie, I need to stop loads and have lots of tea (and cake) breaks!

I've just been getting the first wee things I've got in neutral colours, they've told me I've definitely got a wee boy in here, but they can't confirm the sex of the other wee one- so not counting my chickens before they've hatched I'll wait to see the true flavours.

They're not always accurate with sizes though - I was told Cameron was going to be a big boy, and he was only 5lb 14, and really skinny! My sister rushed out and bought some Adams 5lb baby clothes, and they fitted just fine. Everything else just hung off him. The nurses brought me some vests from Special Care. hehe.

I'd get a couple of wee tiny outfits just incase - you can always change them if the lo's are too big for them.

Don't be shopping too much now Lynie - lots of rest!

xxx

That's if I can get out of the house Jen!  After the twins are here, I'm aiming for being out of my pyjamas by the time I'm 40 which will happen in 5 years time.
