Eds and I have just been swimming as Daddy is away. We havent been for ages so I wasnt sure how he'd be. When we woke up this morning and I asked if he wanted to go he said 'Oh yes please mummy!' so I took that as a good sign.

When we got to the pool (I was already impressed as he'd walked all the way without asking to be picked up) he was really excited and he wasnt nervous once which suprised me as he normally is for a few mins to begin with. I strapped a float thing round him and we got in. He was so confident so I went got him arm bands too and that was it. He was swimming whole widths of the pool, wouldnt let me hold him and was quite fast. Then he asked to take it all off and started ducking under water laughing. It was so much fun to watch and I'm so pleased hes so water confident.

The only problem is he gets very very cold in swimming pools so I need to get him a suit to keep him warm but we'll definately be going back more often now. Hes a water baby just like his mummy!
(I used to swim for the county)

We have the same problem as Emma, not enough adults to kids ratio.. but my older 2 will start swimming with the school soon, so that will be interesting as there not sounding too keen on the idea (even though they've all been many times)

I'm really pleased he has taken to it with such ease again, and sounds like he really enjoys it!
Keep it going.. good cardio excersise is swimming, i wish i could go more often!

Thats great Madz.

We take our swimming regular, Louis is a complete water baby and isnt scared one bit.  Harry on the other hand isnt as confident.

He starts his swimming lessons on Wednesday after an 8 month wait so he's looking forward to it.

Its great exercise for you both. Glad you had a great time.

Its ok as long as its not breaststroke! Besides you can hardly 'swim' with a toddler, just walk up and down in the water.
Which local pool?

I'm so proud of him, he's doing so well and he loved it so much so we're going to make it weekly and I'm looking into lessons for him.
