I'm going up to see my pain specialist today. I'm excited and a bit nervous if I'm honest as I dont know what he'll say. The injections make a big difference but they where of fairly quickly. I cant go through that every 4 months for the rest of my life so I dont know what will be suggested. I'm hoping he will suggest something more permanent but that scares me too as I dont know what to do anything which is too intrusive and causes irreparable damage.

TBH I am worrying for no reason as I have no idea what he will say yet. Wish me luck!

Good luck Madz. Hope they can find something to help you - it is a huge thought, that you'd have to go through the injections every 4 months indefinitely. I assume that the effect gradually wears off too over that 4 month period?

xxx

Good! Although after an hours wait I was in and out in 5 minutes. Basically he's really happy with my progress. What will happen is they will continue the injections they are doing, slowly the time that I am pain free for will increase until I am having no pain between procedures. Then they will lengthen the time between them until I dont need them.

Normally they can do this in just 3 or 4 courses. In me it will take much longer. They will review me after 5 or 6 courses. I have them every 3.5 - 4 months at the moment. He says if I carry on as I am then he'll have me pain free soon, its just going to take longer than most because of the level of my pain at the beginning.

So my next injections are booked for december, it looks like we're on the home straight - all be it a very long one.

Hi hun

I'm glad all went well and that it's a fairly possitive outcome. I'm glad things are on the up..... xx

Meant to say Tsena - Although I talk about having SPD I am fairly sure from talking to the orthopaedic surgeon and Dr Schofield (Dr M's no.2) that I actually have DSP. They have all talked about a significant gap in the pubic symphysis. I am going to talk to Marcia Schofield in Dec as she will be doing my injections again.
