Just wondered where people have stair gates - and how long they left them up for?
We had stair gates at top of stairs, bottom of stairs, kitchen and eds bedroom door. We moved the one from the bottom of the stairs to eds bedroom door at around 20 months as he was confident on the stairs and then I put him into a bed so didnt want him escaping.
We have just taken the one off the kitchen and taken it to mums so we dont have to take the one off his bedroom everytime he stays over. I trust him in the kitchen now. I wont take the one off his bedroom for a little while and I like being able to shut it at night and not have him appearing by my bed in the night. I may take the one of the stairs soon though as he's very confident and its just getting in my way now.

We did have them at the top of the stairs and the bottom too, but dd was quite quick at mastering the stairs so we took them off, we have never had them on the bedroom doors and now we have none, dd is now 2 and we took them off at around 18 months old, but with ds they were on for longer as he walked later than dd and didn't do the stairs so quickly either.

we have one at the top of the stairs and one at the bottom and that's it. I think they will be up for a good while yet, rachel is well able for the stairs but I would be afraid she would loose her footing and fall.

We only had one at the bottom of our stairs as the stairs are open into our living room. The girls were never upstairs long enough to get to the top and fall down. I took my stair gate down when they turned 2. So almost a year ago. They have always been fine with stairs and they never play on them as they know they are not allowed to.

If he is climbing it, take them off , they can be more dangerous then!! My kids are nearly 10 and 7 1/2 and I m about to put mine back up to stop the flippin dogs going upstairs!!!

We had one at the top of the stairs, but took it off as Buster mastered how to open it and goes up and down the stairs on his own, so there was no point keeping it on!
we have one gate on the living room door to the hall, and one on the living room door to the kitchen and thats it. Totally dont trust him in the kitchen and also need to keep the rabbit confined when we're out or asleep.
Don't know when they will get removed, when he starts to climb them then its time, but hes not climbing them just yet......

I still have mine up, at the door to the scullery (where the sink etc is)and 1 at his bedroom door. My problem is how long they are likely to last as Fred has figured out how to open them though not yet confidently!

We had one at the bottom of the stairs, and one on Cameron's bedroom (as we couldn't fit one at the top of the stairs because of the design). The one at the bottom of the stairs was left on for ages after he mastered the stairs, simply to keep him downstairs when I was, and upstairs if he got up while we were asleep and sneaked downstairs to cause mischief!lol
