I am wondering if any of you have had this problem, and if you have any great remedies for cleaning it out of carpets?  Fred decided that while I was getting his breakfast ready (like I do every morning) he would decorate his bedroom with the contents of his nappy.  He was so artfull that his nappy was in tact not open or undone in any way shape or form, and he was stripped of all other clothing.  The blessing in this was that he kept what he got out of his nappy to a very limited space.  I've never had a child do this and was wondering if any of you could help?

Ohhhh noooo!!!

I think you'll need to get someone in to clean that, not sure any home remedies will get rid of the stench.  In saying that when Alex was sick in the back of my car we put lots of bicarb of soda over it after scrubbing the upholstery with vanish stuff and it worked- perhaps that might be an idea?

Awwww sorry, Vix I couldn't help but laugh.  I know that's not helpful.

Not sure how to get rid of the stain other than use a powerful stain remover, but Oust air freshener or a ripe lemon cut in half and covered in salt are good odour eaters.

Did I tell you about the time my two little monsters decided to paint the toilet wall with Tom's poo?

yuk!

Cameron once did a 'dirty protest' in his room, while in his cot. I opened the door in the morning and almost turned round and went away again!

He also went through a stage of taking off his nappy once he'd done a poo, but not telling me!!

xxx

pmsl I am so glad I'm not alone in this!  Weird though this may sound it didn't smell!  Let's just hope it was a one off!  It wouldn't have phased me on any other day, but the one thing I do have a problem with is their room has a light coloured carpet as it used to be ds2's!  Oh well the joys of having little uns!

Hun try non-bio washing powder and leave it to soak in a bit then (uck) scrub it out etc.....(ps. if it's dry use the solution warm)

Other wise i'd say use vanish or mr muscle multi task!

Good luck let us know if it works

Scrub it well. Bicarb is fantastic and I would recommend peeling an onion and putting it in a bowl in the room as onions absorb smell. Then maybe tomorrow cut a lemon in half and put it in a bowl in the room as it makes it smell fresher! I personally dont use air fresheners as they only mask smells for a short time.

Ds had an explosion after taking movicol, he hadn't pooped for 17 days and when he did he redecorated the upstairs of my house, he had tried to clean it himself, as this happened in the middle of the night, so when i woke up it was all  rubbed in the carpet, i had to scrub the carpet on my hands and knees first and then get the vax cleaner on it too, i used vax carpet cleaner fluid and all the carpets came up lovely and clean.
