i have found out recently i have spd. i'm on baby number 3 and have had no problems in pregnancy before.

problem is i'm still having to do 40 minute round trip walking twice a day to drop my son off at school, coming home to do housework...all with an energetic 2 and a half year old.

does anyone have some advice on how i can stop myself making the pain any worse? am waiting to se physio.

Hun there is a couple of articles on here which will help give you some information.....

But the best advice i can give you is if it hurts stop what you are doing. Leave the housework and do the bear minimum and break it down as soon as pain levels increase stop. As for walking do you have a car or anyone who could give you a lift as walking will aggravate it big time, so will pushing a pram and shopping trolley, hoover, etc.

keep your legs together when getting in and out of car/bed, go upstairs and downstairs slowly one leg then the other leg onto same step etc and repeat, use silk nighties to help turning over in bed, or a sleeping bag is good. Try and sit down when washing up and pre-paring food etc, if you sleep on your side place a pillow between your knees if on your back under your knees, listen to your body it will tell you when it's had enough but don't push it too far otherwise you'll know about it the next day.

Let you kid do the running around at home and play games on the floor/table where ever you can get comfy, play hide and seek behing blankets etc..... get them running around and say oh you win slow mummy etc..... Read books and colour together (do christmas crafts, i find it hard to get board of these).

How far gone are you hun (sorry hope you don't mind me asking)....

Hope this helps am a bit spaced out at the minute due to meds. I'm sure some of the others with spd will get on here and give you some better advice but till then rest and Take care xxx

I had spd with my 2nd pg.  My ds1 was 2.5yrs and its tough going trying to look after them with the extra added pain and discomfort from spd.

Do you have any friends or relatives close by who could take you lo  for an hour a day or so just so you can have a break.  Slow your daily pace down as if you rush about like a mad man, you'll pay with the pain later on.

Accept any help offered, the further on in your pg you get, in most cases the spd gets worse.
