I thought I would have liked a suprise, and I was convinced I was carrying a girl. DH and I sat down and discussed it and decided that if the sonographer would tell us, we would like to know. It also made this easier for decorating the nursery, buying clothes etc.
As I have a complicated medical history (understatement of the year!), I was scanned on a regular basis, but we didnt find out the sex until I was 28 weeks cos Lewis wouldnt play ball and kept his legs well and truly crossed!!
I had two more scans after we found out and I got the sonographer to hone in on his bits just to make sure she was right!! I do, however, realise how incredably lucky I was to have all of those scans and most mums arent so lucky.
At the end of the day hunny, it is up to you to do that, and if I have another child we will be finding out the sex as I think it helps enormously with all of the preparation of his/her arrival.
However, as Madz quite rightly said, its easy to get everything in neutral and plumb for a suprise when your lo finally makes an appearance!!
Good luck on whatever you decide hunny xxxxx
