We found out with Max as we were living abroad, away from friends and family, in a 3rd world country, which was extremely poor and the last thing you could buy were cutesy baby boy and girl clothes.  So while back in the UK for the 20 week scan we asked to know so we could buy the appropriate baby bits (and have them shipped over!), but Max refused to show us his bits so had to wait for my unusual 32 week scan (placenta was lying too low at 20 weeks and the docs were concerned), where we were met with a picture of a little boy's rudey bits!!

With Tom I wanted the surprise, but always knew it was another laddie.  Both pregnancies were identical.

I can't give you the answer, but I'm glad I did both...i.e. found out and had the surprise!
