Louis was off colour on Friday, Had a temp and was off food and was very sleepy.  Friday night he had a temp of 40o and was shivering, wouldnt drink anything nor eat and a rash appeared all over him.  I panicked and took him to a and e and they sent him over to the childrens hospital.

He was put on a drip for dehydration and we were told he was suffering from a viral (favourite words!).

Anyway Saturday afternoon he perked up and his temp started to fall, but was kept in Saturday night to be on the safe side and he came home this afternoon.

All we know was that it was a viral infection.  The dr's never gave iit any other name.  I am totally shattered. Had to sleep in a chair for two nights but there was no way i was leaving Louis on his own

Hes much better now, still off food and not himself, very tired and clingy.

gave us all a fright.

Oh noooooo.  That's horrible- what an ordeal for the wee man and you.  Hope he's recovering well now, there is an awful viral thing doing the rounds, that's what popped me in hospital a few days ago.  Was he ok with the drip- I hated it in, it was sore and uncomfy and I'm a big grown-up!

Big hugs to the wee man,

Hope he feels better soon, there seems to be a lot of nasty viruses around at the moment.

Bless him, i hope he's fully recovered for Santa's visit.

Please tell him we're all very proud of him for being a big brave boy.

It's horrid when kids get poorly as you feel so helpless, well done though for catching his temp, my eldest was 38/39 when he was little (had called out of hrs gp as nothing was subsiding it), naked, fan in room but not directly on him, sips of water (the little he could manage), him shivering and haveing tepid baths, he got the there stage where he suddenly had a fit so i lied him on the floor grabed a bath sheet and shoved it in the sink (was full of tepid (sp?) water from the flannels etc and layed it over him, this brought his fit to an end but it was hard..... doc came and said it's viral your doing all the right things call me back if he gets worse!! Took him over 3 hrs as it was!!

Sorry went off on a tandgent there hope he gets well soon and you both get a good nights sleep xxx

Hope he's ok! I can remember when Zarah was little and we had an overnight stay in hospital it was awful, I think being in hospital makes it even more frightening.
Take care xx

Rachel has had two over night stays due to viral infections.....I hate them (who doesn't). I just felt so helpless, All you can do is control their temperature and wait. Hope he feels better really soon.
