Last night Joshua and I stopped out. We've stayed here before, and they have always had cats, but on this occassion the cats were downstairs instead of in the back room. One of the cats did manage to get into the room Joshua was sleeping in, and although it was quickly moved away from the bed, Joshua was last night very sick. He hadnt eaten anything different, or complained of a sore tummy. he didnt over indulge in any food, but still it was a lot of sick. Then this morning I noticed a faint rash on his body, but tonight its definite little spots, like a rash. Not an alarming rash, and not like a normal viral type rash. Im just wondering as he hasnt been off his food or sick at all today if it could all be an allergic reaction to the cats? Last night was the first time he's had close contact with a cat, usually they stay away or are in the back room.

Most allergic reactions to cats are caused by their dander.  This causing sneezing, wheesing, runny eyes and nose.  It doesn't normally cause vomiting unless he has vomited from coughing too much.  Even though he isn't ill I would lean towards it being a virus more than an allergy.

No there was no coughing, or signs of being unwell. I'm not even sure he knew he'd been sick, he was sat up dazed thats when I went in and saw him. There were none of those symptoms so maybe just viral then, or even maybe just something he ate, thanks xxx

Hun, mumsam has most of the symptoms written down for you but i would like to add... a rash for an allergic reaction normally looks like a nettle sting rash, if he became itchy, dizzy, nausea (is a sign) and can occasionally leasd to vomitting but is rare, more likely to feel sick....

It might just be a viral thing going round they seem to carry a rash at the mo.

Hope it settles down soon for you hun xxx
