I had my 3rd round of prolotherapy injections into my groin and lower back on Friday. As always it was painful in the days following but was starting to improve and my mobility was increasing.

However today I am in agony. I have really sharp stabbing pains in my groin which are bringing tears to my eyes. I cant seem to do anything without yelping in pain.

I cant phone my GP as they wont really understand the procedure, and I dont want to bother the hospital I had it done it at either but I am in so much pain I can hardly move.

If the pain you have isn't the normal pain you get witht he injections I would ring the hospital just to see if they can offer any advice or support for you. They are there to help, Im sure they wont mind a phone call if you are in so much discomfort xx

What a shame Madz. Hope you've rung the hospital - you shouldn't let this go on without speaking to someone. Hope you get some relief soon.

xxx

Madz if this is not normal you must ring the hospital. Is the pain where the needle went in? Maybe you have some fluid there. Try and rest and ring them asap if this does not improve. Hope it settles quickly for you. xxxxxxx

I phoned the hospital this morning hoping to put my mind at rest. However both consultants are out today and the nurses cant help! I was told to call back tomorrow morning when my consultant will be in.
The pain isnt constant but when it comes it brings tears to my eyes.
I have my AF at the moment so I'm thinking it might be to do with that.

To be honest Madz i think it might be. My hip plays me up around AF. With you having the injections and then starting it could be water retention as i find my whole leg swells when i have a really bad month and its always in my groin.

Hope it gets better fast and you get some answers tomorrow. xxxx
