My nephew was born 9 weeks early, his brain had a lack of oxygen and so some of the brain cells on the left side died causing him to have very mild cerebal palsy in his right leg.
The poor lad is now nearly 13 and has been walking on his right in-step instead of the sole of his foot. He's been to a specialist and is now awaiting surgery to strengthen the muscle in his right calf and to have his right leg broken in two places and re-set. He will be in hospital for about 2 weeks, in plaster for 6-8 weeks and then have 6 months of physio. As he hasn't stopped growing yet, he will need to have this op maybe up to another 4 times after the first one.
He's been so brave through everything.
