I love books, and in the 4 years Ive had Joshua I've made quite a collection for him lol Ive still got all the very first baby books I bought him lol I kept meaning to sort them out and take some to the charity shop, but I really didn't want to part with any! Joshua is just starting to read, write and spell, so we're now using all his old baby books to learn this. We cover the pictures up and he spells out the words. He's getting really good at it, and the next stage books that I once read to him, he'll be able to read himself! Im glad I never threw his old books away now they are proving to be really useful.

Thats the sort of thing I was going to try and do with Ben, so I'm glad its working with Joshua. I think its a great idea. Like you we have loads of books!! And even some from when I was little! I'm glad we can 're-use' them lol

I have loads of books for ds, they used to be my sd's, but they were all in good condition, to good to through away, so i am re-using them with ds and he seems to like it.

My brothers girlfriend has just gien my loads of books that come with a cd, the books are hard back, so dd can join in too as she still tends to rip them by accident.

I'm the same we have stacks for the girls. I have just had a read at home collection from Grolier and each book has a cd in to help read along. With these we got word cards with them also so i can't wait until they are more interested in things like these.
