Its that time of year again, when we went overboard at Christmas and gained a few pounds, that and the New Years' resolution to drop a stone or two.  Maybe exercise a little more etc, the list goes on!  A few of the members, including myself are embarking on the G I (Glycaemic Index) Diet, which focusses on foods that you digest slowly, with lots of fibre, as apposed to calorific or fat value alone.

The purpose of this thread is for us all to support one another, ask questions and hopefully answer queries and give motivation to us all.  Also to share with the group successful weight loss and/or changes to your lifestyle.

It will also feel good to share progress with the group, theres nothing like getting a bit of praise to give you a boost and make you stay focussed!!

I would also like to point out that this thread is NOT just for those following the GI Diet, this is for EVERYONE

Thank you for reading this and hope to see some replies soon!!

lololol I do that thing with the clothes too, Sam. It's more reassuring than the ole fashioned scales, or I like to think it is.

Unfortunately, feeling a gap around the waistline is a rare event for me.

On a lighter note do you fancy a Quality Street? I can't possibly finish them off on my own.

Ive still got a tin of heros to get through in two days (she says stuffing them in her gob at this ungodly hour), and gonna have a clear-out later when I get home from work, that is if can move from eating all that chocolate....

On a serious note though, this will be great motivation for us to see how we are all doing and to share some tips and hints etc!!  Good luck everyone!!

If you click on the link below there is a list of foods with the GI rating next to them.

http://www.the-gi-diet.org/lowgifoods/

Alternatively, if you have a Poundland near you they are selling both Living the GI Diet and also The Family GI Diet for, yup, you guessed it - a pound each!!  These books are both by Rick Gallop and are fab, as he uses the 'traffic light system' i.e. Red = High GI, Yellow = Medium GI, Green = Low GI.

Another alternative is to see if your local library has any of these books or can order them in for you.

You can pm me if you require any further information or questions, or post them on here, its up to you!!

HTH

Nikki xxxx
