I had a lecture from my GP today. I went in with ear ache, and walked out with ear ache and headache pmsl He now tells me to incorporate counting calories into my low GI diet. Ive no idea how my weight came to being discussed, but he said that counting calories would work better than al ow GI diet. He said that the laws of physics means if I count my calories and stop eating when I get to 2000 I WILL loose weight regardless of condition because physics says so pmsl Im not too happy about counting calories because I know Im so lazy that I'd just skip the meal instead of working it all out pmsl weighing food is not my ideal way to cook pmsl

We'll see, Im still maintaining. Least Im not putting any more on lol

I cant understand that chris is it because of your "condition"? hes being so rigid? because when i went to join my docs i weighed 13n half stone and u have to be weighed in and various checks to joins docs. Well me i was dreading being weighed im so self conscious lol esp as some slim nurse did it lol After i got weighed i took my weight details height etc through and i sat there and me being me felt like i had to say soemthing along the lines of  -"i know Im over weight and could do with losing weight and im currently trying" lol i always feel like i need to explain myself - silly girl lol She jsut replied your a little over weight i guess lol well i know i need to lose at least a stone and a half as i weigh about 12st10 now so i was really shocked to be honest - so im a bit confused really as to why ure doc is "ranting" at you - as i thought we were around the same height and weight if i rem correctly lol maybe she didnt say much as she was actually quite a lot bigger than me and maybe a little hypercritical? lol

Hi Hannah, am trying to loose a stone, but if I could get down below 10 it would be a mental boost!!! I m only 5'4" so i m at the heaviest end of what you should weigh, and bmi is teetering on overweight. I just have terrible self esteem, and everyone has said that i look fine, but i dont feel fine and that has to count for a big part. I dont have many mirrors in my place and certainly not full length ones as all i see when i look in a mirror is fat bits!! so I d rather not see.

My GP is a 'big man' lol so not sure why he was ranting either, but he's so nice and friendly that I just nodded in the right places lol

We are about the same weight and height, I want to get down to 9st7 though .. so lot further to go hehe I'll get there.. I asked him for a breast reduction told him that would shift the first 2 stone and he just chuckled at me - I was serious rofl

Nikki dont worry about slipping babe, just do it when you are ready and it'll work better!

Arghhhhh!

I'd done so well losing 3lbs in 10 days but now I'm sat here bingeing on Ben n Jerrys and a huge chunk of Diary Milk all because I'm coming on my period.

I always crave sweet goodies at my time of the month - just can't help myself.

Does anyone know of any alternative less fattening sweet foods I could binge on?

I know it doesn't sound like it but I am determined to lose the weight and get into shape.

I've even got the Natalie Cassidy fitness DVD!

I'm doing that too Zoe - well scoffing the few chocolate buttons i found in the house. DH is away, SPD is back, AF is here - so I thought what the hell!

I am still around 8st 12oz - but now SPD is back will probably gain a bit beofre my next round of injections. Still aiming to get to 8st 6 but cant seem to shift the last 6oz.

If I get a sweet tooth and get out a bag of grapes.. they are sweet and tend to work!

From this week I am starting to count my calories, as well as following a low GI eating plan. It should be fun NOT!! I hate the idea of weighing my food, calculating everything, but Im assured I'll quickly work out what I can have and wont need to weigh everything all the time!

For anyone who wanted to try smoothies... Matalan have got a Smoothie Maker, supported by Rosemary Conoly (sp). The maker also comes with a low GI idea book!! Its currently on sale at £7.50 for the mini smoothie maker, and just £10 for the full size one!

Im going to try get hold of of a portioning plate. I think that is the biggest issue for me, eating too much of the wrong food types, although I do try to mentally portion my food. If I cant get hold of one, Im going to start making my meals up on a small plate so that I cant over portion my food! Im going to do as my GP says, but 1900 calories at the top of a sheet of paper, then everything I eat I will write down and cross off the calories. Once I get to zero calories, I will stop eating for that day lol Eventually I learn how to space it over the day properly.

I need to go buy a set of bathroom scales, and new decent kitchen scales. My new eating regeme starts today... and Im sorry to say I weigh in today at 13stone 13oz  BUT.. not for long Im more determined than ever before now! I think Im going to update my weight honestly.. weekly and hopefully that'll be another incentive. My mum says she found it easier to focus knowing her weight was being seen by others weekly.
