When do you decide to go without a nappy at night.  I vaguely remember being told with the girls that once you had 5 dry nappies at night then to go for it.  With both girls they were never dry at night until I did away with the nappy.  Ollie has been dry at night for the past week now.  How he isn't bursting in the morning I don't know but he can get up, have his breakfast and brush his teeth before he goes for a wee and that's from 1930 the night before when he goes to bed.  I am still using nappies at night partly because we have nearly 3 bags left and partly because I don't have an endless change of bedding in case of accidents.  Do we go for it or keep the nappies on?

I have been thinking about this recently too

Lily has nights where she is totally dry then others when her nappy is sodden!!

If he has been consistent for that amount of nights maybe just bite the bullet and go without the night time one

I think thats what I did with Ellis tbh

Lily has been doing so well through the day until recently where shes been having accident after accident!! I hope its just a little blip and we haven't undone all the hard work

I think I'll wait another week or so until shes back to normal daytime wise before tackling nights

Maybe invest in a waterproof sheet for Ol's bed and go for it!!

Let us know how he gets on

Good Luck!!

xx

Could you take a pack back to the supermarket and exchange it for the pampers or huggies dry pads which they lay on but gets them used to the idea of freedom?

Good luck with your decision it must be a hard one to make

we went for it with isla erm in october I think it was.  Thing is shed been taking her nappy off during the night and chucking it over the gate anyway lol.

So far so good...only had 2 accidents...which is pretty good.  I was lifting her just after 9 to plonk her on the loo...but over the last few weeks shes been getting up and going to the loo of her own accord.

No advice to give really, if you think they are ready then go for it

In the leaflet I had from Ella's nursery, they say if the nappy is dry for a week, but 5 days on the trot seems perfectly reasonable!

Although Ella is ok during the day, she's no where near ready at night yet. Her nappy is often bigger than her 1st thing!

I have a waterproof sheet for Ella's bed, but find that it makes her really sweaty so I got the pampers bed mats instead. They seam to be much more breathable and are massive so would deal with any accident - it was certainly very good when she vommited all over her bed a few weeks ago....

Joshua was dry during the day over 2 years ago, and we're still battling with the night thing lol He would always wake up with a wet pull up, but one night about 4 months ago he didnt want it on. I just stocked up on bedding and put a waterproof cover on and went for it. We would have a week of dry nights and a week of wet, but thankfully we have a lot more dry than wet now lol If Ols is being that consistant then I would consider going for it.

What about getting the bedmat things ? We used them for Sophie and she soon got the hang of dry beds.

Sounds like he wont be any trouble though.

My girls are still wet at night. I still use nappies at night as Ashleigh does not wake when she has wet. Where as Jamie-leigh will wake up. I can not do one without the other though as they have paddys.

I would go for it and see how you go. I will start the girls again when the weather starts to warm up and i can get the bedding washed and dried the same day.

If he is still dry tomorrow i would go for it as he seems more than ready. You may still have the odd accident but thats bound to happen. xxxx

Louise is the same.  Fantastic during the day - hasn't had an accident for a few months and has been nappy free (daytime) since 23 months? She was 2 in October.

She wakes up most days with a dry nappy, but then waits until she has had brekky and suchlike before going for a wee wee lol!

I daren't take her nappy off at night.  Even though she has a waterproof sheet on her mattress under her sheet.
