As usual steph your on the ball, rationalising and facing everything with not a pair of rose tinted glasses anywhere.

You can do this and you are remarkable..... just think there's not much left of you to go wrong.... so thats one more to cross of the list.

Take care hun.... any news on the house front?

Since your first diagnoses steph you have changed the way I approach life. Not just the fact you are a mummy, but your whole attitude in dealing with this head on.

I now live each day as it comes as if it could be my last. I hold my boys (eds and dh) whenever i want too, never leave either of them without a kiss and an 'I love you' and try to smile even when I feel miserable and realise that life for me just isnt that bad!

You are an inspiration to us all!

Steff you are so right that we all shouldnt take anything for grantted and should definatly take one day at a time and enjoy it but its so easy to forget and get bogged down by everyday life, we lost my bil nearly 2 years ago to cancer at the age of 56 and i vowed then to make the most of what i had got, to visit friends and family more often and to tell my loved ones just how i felt which i do, as my auntie says life is not a rehersal its the real thing but it also makes you ask why a friend lost her dh to cancer just before last christmas he was 30 and it all happened so quick, they had just had a dd who was 6 months old and it was a wekk before their sons 7 bd it was so tradgic, anyway she moved on very quickly but i think it was her way of dealing with things and got a new partner 5 months later a best mate from school, they brought a house together and things where looking brighter for her and the los but then just before this christmas he was killed in a accident he was a lorry driver, so in less than 12 months she had lost 2 people she loved her los had lost their dad and a dad like figuire. Life is just so unfair and im not really sure why i have gone off on 1 like this as its probably the last thing you want to hear.

Just be strong and i know you will fight this with all the determination you have and you will come through the other side, i used to believe it all happens for a reason but im not so sure now. Good luck and big big hugs xxx

I too saw that House episode.

The same processes apply to grief too, it's accepted that it takes a minimum of 3 month's to get to the acceptance stage and some people never reach it.

So in an odd way it's a true reflection of you spirit and determination that you're there steph. Accepting it's happened (may be happening again fingers crossed for you though) will give you more strength to face another fight should you have to.

As for telling those around you you love them and living each day for today, I've been doing that for years but I guess when you deal with tragedy on a daily basis it's never far from your mind.

Hat's off to you for the head's up though....knowing your story will make people think and bring an extra cuddle to a lot of kiddies and hubbies tonight

Only just spotted this steph sorry.

The hepatobiliary surgeon is called David Lloyd. He's at Leicester Royal Infirmary which is where I spend several nights each week looking after his patients...and all the other surgeons patients too.

Hth
