Awww hun, good luck with the school nurse.

It to me seems weird that the school isn't communicating with you more directly if it's as big a problem as they are making out. I would ask if possible to sit in and observe the class.... might turn out as the others have said that she's accountable but not responsible for the ideas etc.

Kids are great at double dares etc when they know children who are aiming to please others to fit in.

I would go back to the school and ask for a log of everything thats happening and why..... are they listening to the child or speaking around them looking at the situation??

Sorry i'm not much help but it just seems weird that they are not contacting you directly when most teachers know it's hit and miss if children remember to hand over letters that are in their bags.... etc. Good luck though hun

OK

School nurse just left. We're getting a referral to SPAR which is like one referral to all the available health care professionals and the one's who feel they have something to offer will then send us an appointment.

Also we have to do a lifeline of Kira's life so far how she was at each age etc how she slept how she socialises with others when we've had issues. A wee bit daunting tbh but once we sit down together should hopefully become easier.

She's asked us to change the way we discipline her at home and keep a diary of all behaviour what set it off and what Kira acheived at home by acting in that way.

It all seems quite positive, though hard work. We're in for major major upheaval as we've got to timeout her instead of heading her off and therefore avoiding the bad behaviour at home...which on reflection it does appear we've been doing so in a way she acheives what she wants from us but not through tantrum's we just give in earlier, though giving in is the wrong word, avoid the conflict might be a better way of putting it.

Soooo school has also phoned to arrange another meeting with us so dh is currently down there talking to the head to arrange that while he fetches the girls. Am fast convincing myself that diet isn't helping but will persevere a little longer and employ these other strategies.

Wish me luck

K

Hi hun i've had to change the way i've told kieran off it's a technique called 123 magic.... it has supprisingly (sp?) worked fairly well but we still have our bad days but now get a few more good.

It defiantly is hard to stick to, good luck i'm sure you'll master it xxxx
