Old wives tales?

Ok so I was wondering how many old wives tales people have heard for determining baby's sex?...How many of ou tried them? How many were right?

I did the chinese birth calendar which says im having a girl hehe, although of course ill not no until my 20 week scan xx

I tried the one when you hold a piece of string with a finger ring on it over the bump. Can't remember which way it is supposed to spin though,

Oooh - now I think it's supposed to swing backwards and forwards for a boy and in a circle for a girl - but I'm not 100% sure!

yep thats 100% correct, I havent done this test

My friend did the ring test on me for all 3 of mine - but not done it for this pg yet!

I have noticed that it tends to go all boys or all girls. There have been a lot of boys born lately so maybe it's time for some girls !

I'm due my little girlie in five weeks and I'm getting soooooo excited!!!

Anyhow back on topic LOL, I've heard the one about hanging a key/your wedding ring on piece of string and seeing which way it spins. I've also heard people say if you carry your baby weight all at the front it's a boy and if you carry it right round the middle it's a girl; which is obviously rubbish cos I'm having a girl and I'm all belly LOL. The other really obvious one I've heard of it the three/four magpie rule though I suppose that's more of a superstition than an old wives tale. I have to be honest and say I don't really believe any of them, but I have to admit to counting a few magpies before I found out what I was having- I just couldn't resist LOL

Actually the best baby sex detector I've found so far is my Mum LOL. She knew I was having girls both times, and she's correctly guessed the sex of the last three babies born to my friends. She doesn't seem to have any other psychic abilities that I know of, but she's pretty blooming good at predicting babies
