ive just seen a report that says that you should try and give up caffine or cut down big time when pregnant as it can increase your risk of miscarriage.

i was just wondering how many people did cut down, with my 1st i went from a big coffee drinker 8 cups at least a day to not being able to stand the taste of it and never really went back to it, i can cope with maybe 1 cup a day now.

i wonder if it was a natural thing my  ody was telling me to do.

I couldn't stand the smell of coffee with all 3 of my kids so I had no choice but to quit drinking it. I had serious headaches for a few days but was fine after that.

The latest study is saying that there is actually very little risk of caffiene causing missarraige but that it should still be in moderation and that tea, coffee and coke dont count towards the 8 pints of fluids you should drink a day.

However like Hazy with brandon and now with this one I have TOTALLY gone off coffee...quite wierd seeing as it was all I used to drink LOL xx

The research from the US today states that as little as 2 cups of coffee or tea a day can cause miscarriage.

The research that was bought out last month said that Caffeine consumption is a mask for miscarriage and not the cause.  Women that go on to have a healthy pregnancy get morning sickness and go off of tea and coffee, women that miscarry don't go off tea and coffee.  What they are saying is going off tea and coffee is a good sign of a healthy pregnancy and not going off of it is a bad sign.

With my 3 live children I went off of tea and coffee immediately, not that I just didn't fancy it but couldn't stand the taste or the smell.  With my mc's I didn't go off of it at all.  Personally I believe it's not the Caffiene that causes the mc but that your body knows what it needs to do to protect itself and a growing baby and if there is something wrong with that growing baby then your body doesn't put out the signals.

Sam i think that is 100% as soon as i become pg i couldnt stand the smell or taste of coffee and i was a really big coffee drinker and never really went back to it. I just thought it was interesting and wondered if anyone else had had the same experience (natural thing to go off coffee) and it seems to be commonplace, just goes to proves that our bodies no more than we do xxx

Well  there is always one that doesn't do right by the scientists, I actually found I drank more coffee during my pg's, and I wasn't warned by anyone.  It didn't help that I never actually read up on being pg or anything with my first 3 as I used to go to mom for advice!  I never went off coffee at all, the only thing that turned my stomach was the smell of food!
