I'm not a huge coffee drinker anyway, so throughout both this pregnancy and my pregnancy with Jess I only had maybe 3-4 cups a week. That said I'm a mad tea drinker and almost always have at least 2-3 cups of fairly strong white tea a day(if I'm at Uni I somtimes have more, but they're only the diddy little caffeteria sized cups)

TBH I'm 35 weeks now and everything is going fine (and of course Jess whose now eight was/is fine) so I'm not going to suddenly panic about every cuppa I have. I tend to view these sorts of medical scares very dubiously because they come up with something *so called* dangerous every week. If you listened to everything that was released in the press, you'd spend you're life wrapped up in cling-film and cotton wool and refusing to leave you're bedroom wardrobe I suppose it's each to their own, and you just have to use your common sense and decide what you believe and how far you are actually prepared to go to adjust your lifestyle according to what's been alleged.

ahhhhhhh but your forgetting whats in cling film tsk tsk..so you wouldnt wrap yourself up in it...and watch out for the cotton wool cos you might suffocate!

How is 2-3 cups o tea the makings of a mad tea drinker...ive had that many by 9am lol.

Take it all with a pinch of salt, but not too much cos even thats bad for you.  But yeah it is amazing what the boffins come up with each week.

End of the day...everything is bad for you in some way, but thats the way I look at it.

Isn't cling film meant to be bad for you too, or is that only if you microwave it......

I totally agree with what you say.  Unfortunately this is exactly the sort of thing women that have mc'ed really don't need to be told.  There is enough guilt associated with having a mc and feeling a failure without then blaming yourself for maybe having a cup of coffee.  There are hundreds if not thousands of women that have babies everyday that don't stop smoking, drinking alcohol, using drugs or drinking 100 cups of coffee a day.  The women that do mc isn't because they drank more than 2 cups of coffee a day!!  When will these so called experts think before they dish out research that hasn't be researched.....

I don't actually like the taste of coffee at all so that wasn't a problem for me. I do like the occasional drink of Coke though and am trying to really cut back on this. Not sure how much, if any, we're supposed to be allowed to drink "safely". Last time the smell of coffee really made me ill. This time I haven't really noticed that.
