Hi there

I am new to this sight and 5 weeks pregnant approx.

Started bleeding yest, was very light but my morning, there were some little clots like what you get at period time when washing down below.  The blood also appears to be dryish and dark brown but sometimes sticky gunge like.  I have also been having period like feeling in my abdomen though not in pain.  is this what is described as cramps?

I saw the Doc today who did an internal.  My cervix is closed and my tummy soft but I can't help but feel extremely sad and convinced I've miscarried.

It's strange how attached you get and used to the idea of a wee one.

I guess nobody can give me answers but after reading everyone else's worries I thought I would post my story.

I have a the pregnancy support unit tomorrow where they will do a blood test as I believe it's too early to scan.

My first pregnancy and I wish I kept it to myself.

Does anyone have a magic wand?  I guess until I know for sure there is a chance that I am still carrying.  I hope so.

Some people have this when the egg has implanted.

From what you have said its not fresh blood so i wouldn't worry to much. I know its easier said than done. There are other ladies on here who can explain it better.

I had mild cramps at the start as its your body preparing its self for pregnancy.

Try not to throw in the towel just yet and good luck xxxxxx

I wish I had a magic wand, but sadly I don't.  Let us know how you get on tomorrow, there is still hope.  With my son I had bleeding and cramps at 7 weeks and thought I had lost him but it turned out I had lost his twin and my son is happy and healthy.  I have suffered 2 mc's since but I really didn't have many signs before I mc'ed with either of them.  Good luck.

I have had cramps with all of my pregnancies at the start up to 10
weeks. It worried me every time I had them. The cramps are always
worse with your first baby as your body and uterus has never stretched
like this before.
It seems it is only a smallish amount of brown blood which is a lot less
worrying that red and flowing. Keep positive if you can. I wish you lots
of luck and hope you are worrying over nothing.(IYKWIM). Take care
and lets us know how you get on.

I am so touched at how many replies I have had so soon.

There is now fresh  red blood and it's just like having my period.

I will let you know how I get on tomorrow.

thank you everyone.  I can still hope but perhaps it's just not the right time and that I can accept.
