wow how did i miss this, so sorry babe only just read up on your sittuation. I have to agree with everyone cramping/period pain very normal i had it with first and still getting it with second(am 16 weeks pg). i had massive bleed 3 weeks ago and yet still saw my little survivor on the screen yawning away, so i really have all my fingers crossed for you. and as for your previous test results they look good, i mc before this pg at 5 weeks and my results were only 65!! theres lots of hope yet, althought the unknown is the worst thing in the world. your gp seems to be doing a great job though, most just fob you off with the 'wait and see'. will log in tomorrow for your news x x all the best

Hi. I'm so sorry to hear your news, sending gentle hugs your way.
I had a miscarriage in April last year and as it wasn't an instant bleed, job done etc, I too had to go to the hospital to discuss options. I read in your post that you weren't sure what happened next, so this may or may not be of use - please do feel free to ignore it I just know that I found it easier to deal with knowing what my options were.
I had bleeding on and off for 5 weeks along with some small clots although I didn't have a natural complete miscarriage. Once my miscarriage was confirmed, the hospital gave me 3 options.
1) Let nature take its course and let the body try and pass the contents of the womb. 2) The hospital would give me some tablets to take which would make my womb contract. I could then have gone home and come back the day after where basically, the body would expel the contents of the womb by bleeding etc 3) An operation, this used to be called a D&C but is now referred to as an ERPC (Evacuation of the Retained Products of Conception). This takes place under a general anesthetic, which you're under for about 30-40 mins. Your cervix is manually dilated and the contents of the womb are suctioned away.
I opted for the operation, purely because I'd been bleeding for 5 weeks and was at this point 11 weeks pregnant and needed it to be over.
Please don't be offended by this post, I just thought it might help to know what the options are that you might be offered. Miscarriage is a truely horrible experience that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy but please please know that you are not alone. Madmums operate a buddy scheme where you can talk one on one to someone who has been through what you're going through, miscarriage being one of the topics. If you'd like to find out more, click HERE
Take care and please do let us know how you got on.

There's nothing wrong with reading other people's experiences at all, I know it helped me loads.
The op is quick, and normally they'll do it as a day patient proceedure so you don't need to stay in. I stayed for about 4 hours and after I'd been to the loo and eaten something (and it stayed in) they let me home.
I did feel a bit bruised and achey afterwards, but thats very normal and they did give me painkillers which once I actually took, helped physically.
