I hurt my foot 2 days ago. It started at work and was just a case of 'oh pants that hurt' and I carried on. I dont even remember exactly what happened or nothing. The pain has been getting increasingly worse for 2 days. I've looked but I cant see any bruise or swelling so I convinced myself it'd go away. I was out last night and drove home earlier today. My friend popped round (a nurse) and saw me hobbling. She asked me what I'd done so I told her I wasn't sure. Never off duty she asked me for a look lol so embarrassed I got my foot out and pointed out to her where the pain was (annkle is fine its just the front of my foot). She said it was really swollen (does not look it one bit!!) and bundled me in the car for an x ray lolol

I felt like a right daft head in A&E surrounded by injured people and sick people lol Anyway I got taken in and the doctor looked at my foot and agreed it looked very swollen (I still cant see it). The x ray showed I had fractured my middle toe and weakened the meta something or other. The prescribed at least 48 hours of feet up rest ... then looked at Joshua and asked if I had someone to look after him lolol yeah right!! They strapped it up and put me on some crutches and insisted I keep it up for 2 days and let it rest, other wise I'll have to go back and they threatened to cast my foot so that I had no choice but to rest it.

I was so embarrassed, ok it hurts ALOT but its just a toe lololol Joshua so far is being protective of my foot keeps asking me if Im ok and do I need a drink bless him. I know that wont last, in an hour he'll want feeding, then bath time and the whole bed time routine. I might get some rest between 8pm-7am lol Then it starts again in the morning lol Just my look its teacher training day at school tomorrow!!

I know just how you feel Chris, I felt daft when I broke my big toe, but went to hospital anyhoo, fair play it was very bruised and very swollen and I was told that they are much more interested in big toes rather than the other ones cos they control your balance.

Again, nothing they could do, I have crutches anyway, told to 'rest' - yeah right ok I said and they sent me on my merry way!

However, dont be embarrased, you still fractured a bone and that warrants a trip to A&E, lets hope that you might get some R and R (yeah well maybe).

Hope it heals quickly for you xxxxx

PMSL Only you hun!!!!!!  It took me 2 weeks to go to the docs about my broken ribs (even flew home from the states the next day) Ionly wanted a strong painkiller to be able to get on with life.  Even when I was told to take it easy, I just made sure I was dosed up and got on with it all!  Hope it fixes fast for you.

Pmsl Vix I tried that and it hurts lololol Im not entirely sure what I did, assume it was a little feet trippy up thing I did at work on Friday but like I said it hurt but I just got on with things and its just seemed to get worse lol

Steph that sounds like what the doctor said, metablahblah lolol I wasn't listening. I know Joshua wont let me rest tomorrow, he's off school. I'll do my resting in the evenings.

I struggle with the crutches so I'll either be keeping my bum parked or hobbling without them lol

I still cant see any swelling hmmmmm lol

Lol trust you! Maybe you are denying the swelling...

Pretending its not there even though it is.

Just try and take it easy and you will get used to the crutches just as you are ready to come off them hehe...

You know where i am just give me a call babe. xxxxxxx
