They haven't said how long for the plaster. She has to have an xray next Thursday to see what's happening, as they haven't ruled out surgery yet - though they'll do the xray through the cast, thank goodness.

We were back at the hospital last night. Poor Ruthie was crying with the pain in her two smallest toes on and off all day. I had to give her the strong night-time medicine, which isn't great for during the day,as it literally knocks her out within minutes of taking it. The hospital was great, and rushed us through to see a doctor. They cracked some of the fibreglass cast around her toes to make some more room, to see if that would help, as they don't want to take the whole thing off unless its totally necessary. Unfortunately we had a terrible night - she was so sore even with the highest dose of painkiller I can give her - and she was in tears this morning when I got her up for the loo before I took Cameron to school.

The xrays from Belgium don't show the foot - one of the nurses last night was wondering if she has an injury there too, so may have to take her back again for another xray before next Thursday to see why her foot is causing so much pain.

I'm shattered today - hopefully we'll both manage to get our heads down for a wee sleep at some stage, before the whirlwind that is Cameron needs collecting from school lol!

xxx

Aw hun! it must be awful to see your baby in so much pain and not being able to do anything for her! I hope the pain eases soon and the xrays all show no further complications! Must be good to have her back home, even in plaster x
