Technically there is no reason you can't give ambrosia once they are happy to eat it. The downside is it is high in sugar 8.3g per 100g so depends on whether you are worried about high sugar.

thanx sam i knew i could reley on u - u think it would b ok 2 offer it once a week or fortnight then? I dont want him having a high sugar intake but not 2 concerned about a little once in a while

Yes Lilp that would be fine, wouldn't do any harm. You could always make your own rice pudding and then you wouldn't have the higher sugar in it unless you put it in, it's very easy to make and cheap. You just need pudding rice and milk. Put it in the oven for a couple of hours.
