Ella was due to move up from the nursery room to pre-school after Easter, and has started having taster sessions, which she loves. In fact, she loves it so much, they've asked if I'd like her to move up after half term, which is fine by me and to be totally mercenary, its cheaper too!

Anyway, she's been in the nursery room for over a year now so I was going to get a card for the staff, but then I overheard another parent talking about getting a gift - whats the protocol?!

Just wondered what anyone else had done - would you buy a small gift?!  HELP!

When Joshua moved up rooms I bought the girls some choclates and Joshua made them a small card.

Im so glad Ella liked the taster sessions, must make the change a little easier for you! Awww all the madbabies are no longer babies, they are growing so fast!

Yeah we did the chocolate thing or flowers and a card too. It gets expensive when you have three kids, and there are LSA s in every class!!!

You could make some biscuits or a cake (fairy ones) and pop them in clear bags and hand them out to the teachers with a card.

Now mines at primary school i tend to cook a large cake and pop it into the staff room so they can all have a slice with a cuppa.

Ive got a thank you card for islas nursery, well they have bent over backwards for us this year..and some mini rolls for the staff.  Think you are safe with flowers/choccies just not money or anything major.

I didn't get anything for 'the ladies' when Max swapped rooms because he was still seeing them everyday anyway.

However, all going to plan he'll be accepted to attend the Infant School next door and if or when he leaves the Daycare I'll get a pressy from Max to 'the ladies' then.

Sorry, but times are hard and every bit of copper helps!!!

When I went through this with Harrison, I got a photo cake made from Asda think they are about £9 ish with a pic of him and Thank You, he made his own card and it went down a treat!  All the staff enjoyed it after their lunch.

Cheap and effective.
