god i'm in agony. my life seems pretty pointless right now. hope the consultant has some idea of how to help me otherwise i'm just about ready to give up. all i can do is lay down and even that leaves me crying. trying to stay cheerful for boyfriend and baby but really starting to wonder what the point is anymore.

i'm only 20, for goodness sake. nothing about our situation is fair. my flat is a prison now, with 3 floors of stairs to get down if i want to escape. not that i'm likely to be able to cope with those for much longer, it's been awful for months and it's almost impossible to do more than once a week as it is.  i can barely make the short walk from my floor mattress to the toilet at this point.

i hate this. the pain is constant and mind numbing. i want to tear out my eyelashes just to have something else to think about other than the pain.

i know i don't have it as bad as some of you, and you are goddesses in my eyes, believe me, but i've had enough.

sorry for moaning to you. my boyfriend doesn't seem to want to hear me moaning AGAIN about it all (can't blame him, he has enough to do as it is)

how do you cope?

Hi hun, Big soft gentle hugs xxx

I know how pants you must be feeling and to be facing the fact that at 20 yrs your life is going to be permanently changed to some degree and the not knowing what the future holds is hard too. (i'm 26)

Yes I agree life does get to the point of why bother, they’d be better of, have a better quality of life without me, I’ve been there and I still have days where I debate this but hun, you sit back and watch them, the way they smile at you, do things and look cheekily back to check you saw and your reaction, it’s moments like these and the hugs that can keep you going…. It’s not going to be pants forever, it feels like it but it’s not, I promise you that. Your appointment is next week and I'm sure your counting down the days…

He is I'm sure going to be your glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel just remember you questions and don’t worry if you cry or anything be open and frank about how much this is affecting you….. but I'm sure from what I’ve read he’ll already have a good idea.

Have you got onto the occupational therapy department? Push for an urgent referral and get the help you deserve. Do you have crutches or any other form of walking aids? As for tearing out your eye lashes don’t hun that’ll only provide a distraction for a few mins… try and find a book, write a story or try cross stitch… it’s hard yes, what do you use to get comfy in bed? Do you have extra pillows? If so where have you tried placing them etc?

Please don’t apologise for moaning your not hun, you need to let the pants stuff escape in some form otherwise it’ll drive you crazy, my dp gets fed up of me moaning etc but he also gets fed up cause I still try and do more than I physically can. Don’t suffer in silence we’re here to chat to.

Hugs hun, madz is right you really are doing so well, you’ve persevered this far, fought the battle and have been referred to a guy who sounds fab, once you’ve seen him hopefully he’ll be able to open more doors for you… you’re not alone hun xx

Thank you so much, both of you! You're so good.

I've only just had a chance to be on the computer long enough to reply, and I've made a post about what the consultant told me - I just feel so glad now I've been to see him.

I totally forgot about the occupational therapy (!), am going to make an appointment with my GP and see if she'll refer me as she's been brilliant at referals so far. I also have to ring my physio and tell her how it went.
