That is good that it works!!
Meg is testing the boundaries too, she is very bossy and fussy! What works for her depends on the situation, ie if she runs off in the shop i will say " do you want someone to take you away!" and she will come running back, shouting her back never works lol. If she fights getting into her car seat i say " a policeman will take mummy/daddy away if you don't strap up!" she always says "no they can't" then she lets us get on with it. And counting to 3 for other things, i tell her i am going to count to 3 and if i get to 3 and she hasn't done what i told/asked she gets put in her room or toys etc taken off her. She can be quite nasty to Liam so if she ever hits him she gets told off, toys taken off her, no sweets or treats and sometimes a smack if she has really hurt him. She just cries whenever she gets a tap on the hand, she doesn't like things being taken away either she always says "you ruined my plans!"
Liam is hard to punish! Tapping hands or nappy never even gets a reaction, shouting at him makes him laugh, He won't stay still for a second so naughty corner went out the window! Even persistant putting him back he still never learnt he was meant to stay put! So i just make him say sorry to whoever he has hurt.
