Well when we have our little bndles of joy, we are given loads of ways of working out what they need and why they are crying. When they get to 20 months, and you are used to them going to bed and almost straight to sleep, staying awake for 3 hours screaming is a real puzzle. So last night I did what I haven't done for absolutely ages, I wrote down a check list and although it wasn't 100% successful, at least I could see what I had or hadn't tried! There were 5 different things it oculd have been, however having treated Winston for teething, pain, cold stuff etc, I realised with one look of his face that he actually is having alot of problems passing wind. His face was bright red from the screaming, except for just above his lip where it was definitely blue! So having bounced, jiggled and wobbled him for well over an hour in the end, I gave him a little drink to wet his throat after all the screaming, and let him whinge/cry for half an hour, he eventually fell asleep at 9:15pm. I haven't felt this tired for ages, however the bonus i, that because it had been a good day, I was much more able to deal with it. Not sure how to get rid of wind in a toddler, but never mind. I just thought I'd give you all hope, that you can keep your sanity! They slept through all night and didn't wake up til after 7:15 this morning, so technically I got a lie in! lol

Have you tried baby massage on him to release the wind? I swear by it. I carried on doing the massage sessions after a bath until the boys were gone 3, they loved it, i enjoyed the peace it gave me and it bought us to a cuddly conclusion after bath time!! They will still say now " can you rub my belly please ?" only now they get the giggles because they are sooooo ticklish!!! also laugh their heads of when the wind finds its way out!!!! Gas masks required!!!
