hey ladies,

I am having a right time of it, Diesel our lovable labrador pet came out of the vet hospital yesterday after having a really bad bout of sickness and losing 2kg in 3 days...I thought *phew* that's the worst over with surely...

err no!

Went to Argos today with my kids and Meg was walking, she went under the shelving thingies where the catalogues are fixed on to so you can look at them, and she must have jumped or something, coz she bumped her head! She started screaming, so i picked her up and handed her to Andy as i was trying to get Liam off to sleep at the same time!

A few minutes later i notice she has blood all over her face and neck, so i ask rather loudly for the store first aider, she comes over quite quickly and takes a look...Meg has so much hair it's hard to tell where she is bleeding from at this point, but whatever happened she bled quite a lot!

Anyway, they put a bandage round her head and filled in an accident report, turns out she caught her head on a protruding screw under the shelving which staff reportedly catch themselves on whilst cleaning all the time!! WTF?? It needs rectifying!

Andy went to get the car to take her to A&E during which time i sat with Meg, she was standing up but suddenly went all wobbly, she was very pale and clammy, i said to the first aider, "she's going to faint" and as said it i lifted her up led her on my lap and put her feet up.

Took her to A&E where she had to be cleaned up as good as possible, and the cut itself was relatively small, but quite deep so she had to have her head glued! She was very brave and didn't cry, and only perked up just before the nurse suggested her going to a different hospital for observation!

Fortunately she is ok, but i am not happy with what went on, them shelves are just the right height for a toddler to wander under and obviously get hurt! Screws that are too long to screw fully in should never be used!

I am going to be writing a strong complaint in about it!

Awww, the poor wee mite.  I remember oh so well Max having to have his forehead glued, it's not pleasant.  I hope Meg's got over her little trauma now, bless her.

I think you have good grounds to complain-good luck with it.

What a shame. Hope she's feeling better now.

I agree - those screws shouldn't have been used in the first place, and certainly should have been replaced if people had already injured themselves on them - good luck with your complaint!

xxx

Gosh, glad she's ok.

Harrison had to have his head glued a few years ago and he has a tiny bald patch where the hair wont or cant regrow, everytime he gets a hair cut its really noticable.

Poor Meg.

That first aider sounds a bit useless if she can't see the wee mite change colour...

And as for the negligence involved with that screw, well you go girl I think a written apology is the very least you should expect. Might be an idea to pop back and photograph the area it happened so you have some evidence its amazing how large companies can pretend nothing happened when they get complaints like this.

Let us know how you get on and give meg a special cuddle from me that glue really stings I had to have it behind my ear when I slammed a car door on my head...I know don't ask and no i wasn't drunk hihi

Kate
