hello
thomas fell today at nursery.
when i collected him i had to fill out an accident sheet which stated
everything that happened. on the way out of nursery, he kept saying
his tooth was wobbly. i just put it down to the fact he was getting
confused as the girls said he burst his lip.
i had a look but couldn't see anything, i re-sassured him that it was
his lip that had been bleeding.
anyway, tonight in the bath he was complaining that his tooth was
wobbly again, i had a look and on of his top front teeth is loose. the
gum above the tooth looks as though it's bruised. i wouldn't go to far
as say it's wobbly and hanging by a thread but there is a slight
movement.

does time heal this type of thing and the tooth and gum will heal
themselves back together, if you know what i mean ?

or should i be getting him checked out ?

sorry, seems like a stupid question but i am no dentist and don't
know about these things. if it was hanging by a thread, i would have
got it checked out straight away but don't know if i am wasting time
getting it seen to if it will heal itself

thanks
x

Hi hun

It's not a silly question it's not something that is known about unless it's happened to you, however it should sort itself out but if you can get to see your dentist (or give them a call) i would still go get it checked. Avoid tough cruchy foods like french sticks and whole apples for a few days, it will become stronger again....gentle brushing too....

I'd recommend that he drinks an extra glass of milk a day to help make sure his calcium levels are high to deal with any extra that it needs to help it heal....

Hth

The dentist can do x-rays and work from what they find, normally it's just wait and see. Hope he feels better soon.
