Hi All
Well as you may or not know my youngest daughter Lily was in having grommets inserted in her ears and her adenoids removed.
She had the op about 4 weeks ago and even though it is early days we are seeing a huge difference in her
She is definitely hearing so much better now and her general health and personality seem to be improving massivley!!
Lily has always been one of these children that catches the cold at the drop of a hat and pretty much had a runny nose or/and a cough all the time - since the op she has been in tip top health and just seems so much happier!
The surgeon who performed the op said her adeniods were riddled with infection so this was one of the reasons for her constantly catching colds etc as they never had a chance to heal properly - so now they are gone fingers crossed she wont be as ill so much!
Also because she wasn't hearing properly her speech wasn't as good as it should be and she was saying words the way she heard them - but she is now speaking alot more clearly and more words sound like they should!
I am so chuffed and if she keeps on improving with her speech the way she has been then I don't think the referral for speech therapy will be necessary but I will welcome it if she doesn't improve obviously
Anyhoooo sorry for the long post but she just seems to have come on leaps and bounds in the past few weeks and isn't so frustrated and annoyed as she was
Just got a few more tests to go through (see my other post lol) and then hopefully she can be left alone to develop and grow

I'm so pleased the operation has helped her so much already, im sure she will continue improving with her speach now, and hopefully she shouldn't get so ill as often as she used to. So great news for that, and also fingers crossed for her other tests to be clear too. x-x-x

Aww Fee its great to hear that she has improved so much. Its nice that she is finally going to feel normal without catching all the horrible bugs so easily.

How is the use of her voice? I'm only curious, when my dd her grommets, she loved the sound of her voice so much, that bless her she hasn't shut up since (even in sleep pmsl) Glad all is going well for you (and her). Oh and the bad news, selective hearing is another problem, dd still suffers from that at almost 13, and ds1 &ds2 haven't grown out of it either (14 & 16)
