At 1pm the lady from Social Services is coming out to assess Lewis.  I know I shouldnt be, but I cant help it, but Im cr**ping myself big stylie!

She sounded lovely on the phone yesterday, as she was supposed to be coming out yesterday but Kev had a hospital appointment that clashed and she could only come out today, which is fine.

Im off to work this morning but I will be home at lunchtime, and Im so so nervous its unbelieveable!!

Will let you know how it goes this afternoon.  Thanks everyone for being there for me during this difficult time.  Love you all xxxxxx

Well, we've had our grilling and the findings are that theres no need for a social worker and they have signed the case off.  We have been referred to an early years practitioner who will be able to offer more support, and both the social workers who came out today feel that Lewis is now ready for Nursery.  Unfortunately we aren't in a Surestart area so the EYP might be able to get us into a Surestart nursery in the next village. 

They were quite thourough and Lewis displayed some cracking behaviour, although they were still pretty convinced that this is normal behaviour for a child of his age - yeah right!

I also explained how let down I feel about the lack of support and also mentioned to them that Lewis hadn't had his two and a half year check.  So we will see what happens now.

Glad that's over-with for you. Hopefully now they'll get their finger out and sort out something for you - and you'll receive some proper support. Be great to get Lewis into nursery - good for him, and some well-earned rest for you.
