I am sat here trying not to worry and get myself worked up into a state. As you know Ashleigh has had this sickness bug since Sunday morning and Jamie-leigh since Monday evening.

Anyway i thought Ashleigh was getting better but then at 5:30 she threw up all down my stairs. They are hardly eating or drinking as they just bring it back. When they are awake they just sit there. When they do manage to play they burn what little energy they have and end up sleeping. All they keep doing is lounging.

I have rang the Nhs help line and i was told that i should see a doctor. I rang the doctors who are shut and rang the out of hours to be told a nurse will ring me back. I had just been through this. I was told from the nhs nurse that i should still feed them starving them won't help. Then i was told from the nurse from the out of hours to starve them for 12 hours. I mean come on! They are hardly eating anyway and throwing up all the time.

Ashleigh has gone nearly all day and then just started all over again. So its starve them for 12 hours. I will just give them juice in the morning and nothing else. The first time one of them so much as heaves i am at the docs giving them what for. I know there isn't alot they can do but come on its been 5 days since Ashleigh ate something. She can't lose any more weight and their wee is really dark as they are becoming dehydrated.

Please help what would you do?

I am sat here fighting back tears as i just can't go through another day like this.

Hun i went though this with kristian....

I was told by my gp if he's drinking water etc and keeping it down for 15mins before puking then he is getting some goodness in him, no more than 2 oz at a time though.....

After 7 days of no fluids i was given some dioralyte sachets to use..... as this re-hyrates them..... (could kev get some from a pharamacy if not get some tomorrow.....)

If they want to eat let them... make sure it's ligth, my lo managed to keep tesco's version of cheerios down and nothing else so he used to have a bowl that he'd pick out of when hungry, again, if it stays down for more than 15mins (apparently) they are getting some goodness out of them...

The sachets are disgusting but they worked.... shame i live too far away i could have poped some over for you.... sorry.

Hugs hun..... it's worrying i know.....

I'm afraid as drastic as it may sound, if they are getting dehydrated, then take them to A & e, at least then you will be getting them sorted.  Good luck hun, but as you said it's been 5 days of it, they really should be seen.

Thanks Zany i have the sachets but my girls will not drink it. No matter how hard i try. I just really don't know what to do anymore. Ashleigh had a brown paste in her nappy but hasn't had a poo or even tried. I mentioned this but they didn't say anything. Jamie-leigh is complaining that her mouth is sore and her lips are dry. I have told them this but again just told to give ice lollys.

They are in bed now so won't be having anything.

Thanks Vix i thought this but i don't want to get down there wait hours to be told what i have already been told. I will wait until the morning and go from there. But i think i might go to A&E if they are no better.

Im sorry that you are having such a rough time, my gp always says dont worry about food if they dont want, if they ask give them something but if they dont dont worry just try and get them to drink little and often and try and get the sachets down them by adding some juice to them to try and disguise the taste, but that never works for me. I wish i could be more help if you are in any doubt take them to a&e

take care and hope you have a good night and tomorrow is a brighter day xxx

If they are still no better tomorrow either gor to A&E or go to the docs

Lily was like that before Christmas and even though she was eating and drinking she couldn't keep anything down at all

On the 4th day I took her to the doc who sent her straight to the hospital  - they put her on a drip and she was out the next day on the mend

Not telling you this to scare you babe but I would ring the GP in the morning and get them down there

xx

My dd had excatly the same as you lo's and ended up on a drip for 24 hours as the body gets to weak to help itself, she was much better after that,  i got a right telling off from the dr at the hospital for not coming in sooner, only for me to tell him that they had sent me away that morning as she was a none emergency, so they have always been giving the advice in different forms just depends on who you see.

Good luck i hope they get better soon.

Hi they are very lethargic today. Sleeping alot but no sickness yet! My neighbor over the road popped over as i needed to nip to the shop for some bread. She gave me one of her loafs bless her.

Well she used to be a nurse and came over and looked at them. She said they are dehydrated but not to the point of needing the hospital. Anyway i told her i have some Kaolin from when they was poorly last time. The doc gave me 6 bottle so i have 4 unopened ones. She said give it them as its used for upset tummys and diarrea. She said if i take them to the docs that is all they will give them.

So i have given them some of this and they have both managed a slice of toast. So far its staying down. I have also started putting a bit of diralyte in their juice and they are drinking it. So hopefully today is the turning point and they will be feeling alot better by tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for the advice.

Oh and can someone tell me how to do the bicarb to get rid of the smell out of my carpet? I'm not sure how much to use. Do i mix it with water and dab it in. Sorry lol i really am useless hehe!
