What the heck do you do when you keep getting lied to ?
Thought I would check up on Bex today as I just had a feeling she wouldn't be in school. The reception said that she isn't there and hadn't signed in late either. Called Bex mobile and got her friend Emma who tried fobbing me off with Bex is in the loo, said it's ok I'll wait. Could hear muffled convo going on and then on comes Bex.
She is in school and the school are lying. I asked her if she is telling the truth, go to the reception and ask them to phone me and apologise for making a mistake.
Bex utterly refused so I said well, that just proves you aren't there then dosen't it. According to her the school has it in for her.
OMG !! Please ! They are trying so hard to help her and she is just throwing it all away.
How many more chances am I supposed to give this flammin child ?

Lying is one thing that drives me up the wall, at least she knows you are checking her now and she might be more warey(sp?) about trying it again.

Do they mark her absent if she is late as my sd's school does this and it effects her reports, have you put her on attedence report, we did this with my sd and it worked.

This is a hard situation to be in i bet!
Theres only so much you can put up with from her lying to you, but short of you watching her go into and out of school, kids will always do as they please once they hit the teenage years dont they?

Have you tryed having a quiet chat, just you and her to see if she's having problems at school, as you mentioned she said the school have it in for her?
I remember bunking off school ocassionally simply because i didnt like a teacher, and would do anything to get out of it unfortunatley!

I know trying to talk to her might seem like its falling on deaf ears, but tell her you need to know where she is (without scaring you... all the missing children we have on the news lately!)

If she knows your keeping an eye on her, and wont tolerate the lies any more, then hopefully she will soon settle down... fingers crossed.

I don't know what to suggest. The one child of mine that is a down and out liar, doesn't stand a chance of getting away with it as dd goes to the big school now. Does the school not inform you when she is absent? The school here phones regardless of which year (ds1 was most embarassed when they called in the last year of school! lol) they are in. I used to skip school regularly and my mom never knew.
