As you know, Lewis's behaviour etc has had us worried lately, and yesterday, whilst wandering round Tescos - as you do - there was a boy, of I would say about 9, quite big for his age, took a 'Lewis stylee' tantrum right before our eyes!!

His mother, bless her looked unfazed by this, just left him to it, making sure he couldnt hurt himself.  I looked at her and said ' I thought it was supposed to get better!' She looked at me, then at Lewis and started to smile.  The lovely lady then explained that her son had Prader-Willi Syndrome and that he may still be having these tantrums well into adulthood!!  That totally made me feel humble!

Aanyhoo, once I got home, I looked up Prader-Willi Syndrome up on the net - as you do!!  Apparantly its something to do with chromesome 15 being faulty and having an insatiable appetite.  Couldn't find out an awful lot and was wondering if anyone else knew more about this??

Thank you in advance xxxxx

I've faguely heard of it but don't know anything about it! What a great mum! To be so honest with you like that! At least she's able to explain her son's behaviour in a sensilbe unembarassed manner.

WOW !! One special lady her.

I have only heard abot the over eating side of it. Did watch a prog about it once and it was so sad. The kids had to be locked out of the kitchena nd in one case, all the food was kept in the garden shed with a huge padlock on the door.
