This morning, Mr Postieman brought me the report from the Social Services visit a couple of weeks ago - and I have to say that to be insulted by this is an understatement!

For a Kick off - they refer to me and dh as Mr and Mrs Hughes - WTF???

The contact details are wrong, she took down these details at the interview .  They then state that my stepson is 10 years old - hes 16 in November.  The social worker openly admitted in the interveiw that she didnt have the expertise in dealing with children of Lewis's age and kept referring to her niece, which probably means that she doesnt have any children of her own.  Kept saying throughout the report that in her opinion, Lewis's behaviour was correct for a child of his age - how the **** would she know???

Finally the spelling mistakes and grammar left a lot to be desired - it looks like it was written by a 10-year-old.  And this was signed off by the team leader!!!  Seems to me that this was a rush job that was not checked and just signed without even been read through properly!!

I am now drafting a letter of complaint to the director of Social Services, outlining these 'mistakes' and how upset and insulted we all are and I am also sending back the form unsigned and stating that I am not signing anything until these mistakes have been rectified.

Arrgghhh - rant over - gonna do some housework or something until I calm down!!!!

Yes, the address and most of the details are right, but still - its got incompetancy written all over it!!

Awww hun it's great isn't it.... usual goverment standards and these are people we're meant to entrust the safety of our children too. I think it's disgusting and i had a similar problem with mine when i got my report.... it was all just a load of cods wollop.

Good luck writting the letter i hope you get a response quickly... might be an idea to send it registered post so they can't fob you off and say they never recieved it.
