Apologies first for the not so nice topic.  And thanks to those who end up reading it.

Well, some of you may have read some of my posts seeking advice about my rather strange little boy and his equally bizarre phobia regarding not wanting to do a ... aherm...poo on the potty.

Well, yesterday he'd only gone and done one in the toilet.  Yes, not only had he done away with the nappy, but also braved the big boy toilet!

Now I'm not sure if it was an accident, but nevertheless, everyone present including his big bro congratulated him and praised him heaps, which he lapped up big stylee.  We even took him shopping to get him a well done pressy.

Anyway, today you'd never guessed he'd done it for he's gone back to demanding his nappy when it's time to 'go' again (otherwise he wears briefs).

But, on the plus side he's weeing in the toilet instead and has even decided he's big enough now to do a wee standing up!

So not all negative.

Told you it's a bit silly.  Thanks for humouring me.

Well done, he will get there eventually.  You don't see many 18 year old boys asking for a nappy to pooh in so he will be fine I am sure.  When I think of all the things I worried about with Hayley and she will be 19 in a few weeks time I wonder why I wasted so much energy on worrying she wouldn't meet all the milestones in the end.  Now I wish she was little and back in nappies still at least I would know what she as up to then.....  Keep on trying he will get it in the end.

Well Done... my now 4 year year old had the same phobia. It took about 6 months... and one day he just got it... in Halfords of all places

I am still educating , my 7 year and 4 year old to lift and return the toilet seat. Me thinks this could be a life long job!

Aww bless him Zo.

Well done

He will get there hunny. Ashleigh still has accidents and she has been potty trained for almost a year. Thing is she is just lazy or waits until its to late before she goes. Then she doesn't tell me! So i know how frustrating it can get!

Awww bless him Zo, he really is doing well. I wouldn't worry about needing his nappy for the toilet. Ds1 was like that, he refused point blank to use the toilet or potty for going for a poo. Once he realises how uncomfortable it is, he will eventually use the toilet. At least he's started to use it, so now it's not such a huge thing! One piece of advice, I remember that when ds1 used his nappy, I used to take him up to the toilet to empty it, every time. He will soon get the message that the toilet is where it is done. Good luck hun xxx

At least he has done it once, you might even find that if you make nothing of it every time he asks for a nappy, he might be enjoying all the attention it brings and if he does do it again on the loo give him loads of praise.

At least he is weeing in the loo, my 2 ds do wee in the loo but seem to have problems with directing and often end up with a wet floor and dont get me started on the toilet seat MEN!
