Last night, whilst chatting on MSN and being on here - I kept getting windows installer preparing to install.  I remember a while back when madmums went offline and this preparing to install kept popping up and it was someones attempts to hack into the system.

I just hit the switch and knocked everything off - and left it off for the rest of the night.  we have norton antivirus which is always kept up to date.  I have upped the security of the firewall for the time being, but I was just wondering if there was anything else I could do to prevent this?

Any advice would be greatfully recieved with thanks.

Might just be where you have accidentally uninstalled a shared file or resource when uninstalling a program.

Download Hijack This run a scan while using messenger and then PM or email me the results, I'll take a look.
